Dr. Tobias Schneider
Research Associate at the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research and Institute of Geography, University of Bern
Welcome to my professional world!
Currently, I am a Research Associate at the Institute of Geography and Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR), University of Bern.
I am interested in elucidating interactions between the climate system, the environment, and human activity based on the reconstruction of past environmental and climatic conditions. Lakes and their sediments lie at the heart of this endeavor, providing excellent natural environmental and climatic archives.
Beyond research, I am passionately contributing to creating a sustainable future of Swiss academia and research. As a co-founder and the chair of the Global SNSF Fellows Network – a platform crafted by and for fellows – and as a European regional representative for the Past Global Changes Early Career Network (PAGES ECN), I am dedicated to empowering and advocating for the next generation of researchers.
